Elanora was born alongside her sister Seraphelle from a rift in the core of the Feywild, a realm teeming with unbounded emotions and mystical energy. While Seraphelle encapsulated hope and destiny, Elanora became the embodiment of sorrow, loss, and the harsh realities of existence.

Hidden deep within the labyrinthine woods of the Feywild is Elanora's sanctuary, known as the Grove of Tears. Here, the rivers flow with the crystalline tears of all sentient beings who have ever grieved. These rivers converge into a dark lake where Elanora often sits, contemplating the sorrows of the world.

Upon entering her domain, visitors pass through a mystical barrier called the Veil of Despair. This veil allows Elanora to sift through the sorrow of whoever seeks her guidance, making them relive their deepest losses and regrets, to understand if they are truly ready for the wisdom or transformation she offers.

Acknowledging their intertwined roles, Elanora and her sister Seraphelle formed a pact to balance the pain and hope of every living being. When a soul is drowning in grief, Elanora provides a space for them to heal, albeit at a high emotional cost. Once a soul has endured this trial, they are often guided to Seraphelle to choose a new path or find forgiveness.

Elanora is seldom alone in her Grove of Tears. Her guardians are ethereal entities known as the Sentinels of Sorrow. Formed from the most profound griefs and losses, these beings are fierce protectors of their goddess and serve as her agents in the mortal world, collecting the tears of those in anguish.

Each year, during the darkest night, Elanora conducts a sacred ritual. Those who have suffered unimaginable loss are allowed to cast a memento into the lake in her grove. In exchange, she grants them a shard of resilience—fortifying their spirit but also sealing away a part of their sorrow, forever trapped in the lake's depths.

An ancient scripture, known only to Elanora and a select few, details the mysteries of sorrow, loss, and the process of emotional rebirth. Known as the Twilight Codex, this text is hidden within a chamber of obsidian and moonstone at the heart of the Grove of Tears. Only those who have navigated both her and her sister's trials are granted access to this arcane wisdom.

A grim foretelling exists, suggesting that a time will come when sorrow will overwhelm the Feywild, threatening to drown its beauty in eternal gloom. It is believed that only Elanora can stem this tide, but the cost will be immense, likely requiring a sacrifice that even she might be hesitant to pay.

Elanora serves not just as a deity but also as a fundamental element in the emotional and mystical fabric of the Feywild. While her domain may be harrowing, it's a necessary part of life's journey. She offers an avenue for souls to confront and process their grief, to eventually emerge stronger and more complete, even if the road is steeped in tears.
