Baoyue

Symbol: A crescent moon entwined with a silver tidal wave

Alignment: CG

Power Rating: Lesser

Realms: Fujiwara

Baoyue is revered for her control over the lunar cycles and her influence on the tides. Her ethereal beauty is said to be so mesmerizing that even the stars shy away in her presence. Though she blesses lovers and guides travelers by night, her light is tinged with eternal sorrow due to her estrangement from the solar gods.

Long ago, Baoyue was enamored with the beauty of daylight but saddened by her dominion of darkness. In a bold move, she stole a fragment of the sun to create her own light, crafting the moon we see today within the Fujiwara realm. This act, while creating her domain, cost her the fellowship of the solar deities and left her forever tied to the realm of night.

Sailors, fishermen, lovers, and night travelers often pay homage to Baoyue. Many a shrine has been erected on cliff tops and shores where the moon's reflection dances upon the water.

"The Night of Silver Tides": A moment when Baoyue's influence was at its peak, causing the tides to rise extraordinarily high and low in a single night, leading to the discovery of hidden sea routes and treasures.

Lunaria, the Tidebender: A gifted sorceress who can control water. Legend has it that she was a shipwrecked sailor saved by Baoyue, to whom she devoted the rest of her life.
