Lunarek, the Twilight Vanguard, is the god of moonlight, transitions, and guardianship during uncertain hours. He walks the razor-thin line between dusk and night, between alert and dream, and between peace and war. Where sunlight fades and stars are not yet fully risen, Lunarek stands watch.

Depictions of Lunarek vary between phases of the moon. His blade, Gloamfang, is forged of condensed moonlight and can only be wielded at the edges of shadow.

His realm, The Umbral Rampart, is an eternal horizon bathed in gentle twilight. It shifts endlessly between states—warmth to cold, light to dark—but never fully arrives. There, Lunarek trains celestial sentinels who defend against forces that creep in the vulnerable hours between day and night.

Though he shares dominion over Twilight with Verityn, Warden of the Celestial Canopy, the two are not rivals, but reflections of a single divine principle. Lunarek is the blade at twilight’s threshold; Verityn is the path through the stars beyond it. They are said to have once stood back-to-back during the Eclipsed Reckoning, holding off a tide of shadow that attempted to consume the dusk and distort the night sky into madness.

Their partnership is unspoken but absolute—Lunarek ensures the world survives the descent into night, and Verityn ensures it finds direction once there. Some sages say that every full moon is a whispered pact between the two, where Lunarek’s light grants Verityn safe passage to carry the stars across the sky.

Though their philosophies differ—Lunarek values vigilance and containment, Verityn celebrates freedom and exploration—their coexistence has become symbolic of transition as a sacred cycle rather than a moment of vulnerability. Followers of both deities often collaborate during seasonal rites, equinoxes, and astral alignments.

Lunarek is a god of balance through vigilance. He does not push toward light or shadow, but instead holds the boundary between them, ensuring neither swallows the other. For this reason, he is revered by guardians, travelers, scouts, moonlit hunters, and those who defend others through times of transition.

Worship of Lunarek often takes place at thresholds: doorways, borders, campsites, and moments of personal transformation. His rituals involve candles extinguished in silence, oaths sworn beneath moonrise, and swords anointed with silver dust. His clerics are trained not only in prayer, but in martial defense, and often serve as protectors of sacred places or traveling caravans.

Miracles tied to Lunarek include sudden moonlight revealing hidden threats, exhausted sentries granted unnatural clarity, and spectral wolves forming from silver mist to guard the defenseless. It is said he watches every full moon from the edge of the horizon, silently counting those who keep their vigil.
