Vithyara, the Mistress of Sacrificial Ties, is the goddess of blood, familial bonds, and the terrible price of devotion. She does not demand worship for worship’s sake—she demands proof, and that proof must always come in blood. To Vithyara, love and pain are inseparable, and sacrifice is the highest form of truth.
She is depicted as an imposing woman in flowing crimson robes, her body adorned with charms made of bone, hair, and tokens from rituals long forgotten. Her eyes are bottomless black voids, incapable of tears, and her hands eternally slick with fresh blood. A heavy iron chain coils around her waist, symbolizing the inescapable weight of kinship.
Her realm, the Crimson Reliquary, is a cathedral-world suspended in a sky of dripping veins. Within, rivers of blood flow upward, and walls are etched with names long erased from mortal memory—names of those who gave everything for someone else. Her throne rests atop an altar that bleeds endlessly, surrounded by statues weeping from a thousand small wounds.
Vithyara’s origin is whispered in horror: a mortal tear shed by a mother forced to sacrifice her child. From that grief came a goddess who believes that only what is offered willingly, painfully, and deeply can reshape the world. Her power grows strongest in times of desperation—when mortals are willing to betray what they love most to gain what they need.
Her worshipers include cultists, dark healers, warlocks, desperate nobles, and those who feel abandoned by other gods. Her rites always require a bond to be broken: a vow betrayed, a life ended, a lineage severed. The deeper the connection, the more potent the offering.
The Night of Betrayed Blood is her most infamous tale: a royal family, seeking to save their dying kingdom, sacrificed every member of their own bloodline. The kingdom thrived overnight—but every newborn born since has eyes as black as Vithyara’s, cursed to feel no familial love.
Her most loyal champion is Morven Bloodoath, once a nobleman who sacrificed his family in exchange for power. In return, Vithyara bound him to her as a deathless knight of blood magic. His sword weeps with every soul it severs, and his presence is always preceded by the scent of iron and salt.
Miracles tied to Vithyara include blood binding rituals, dark resurrections bought at unbearable cost, enchanted chains that sever family loyalty, and healings that leave behind emotional scars. In the most extreme acts of devotion, entire bloodlines have been erased in exchange for divine favor.
Her cults, such as the Chainbound Choir, take her doctrine to extremes. These sects believe family is a weakness to be burned away in service to Vithyara's strength. In their twisted rituals, only betrayal is sacred.
