Temporissa, the Timekeeper, is the devoted daughter of Chronos, entrusted with the stewardship of time during his unexplained disappearance. Though she is not the embodiment of time itself, as her father once was, she bears the tremendous responsibility of maintaining its flow, safeguarding its continuity, and correcting disruptions before they become disaster.
She appears as a graceful, composed figure with eyes like flowing sand and hair woven from strands of suspended glass. Each movement seems choreographed with perfect cadence, her presence bringing clarity and stillness to chaotic moments. Unlike Chronos, who operated from unreachable stillness, Temporissa walks within the flow, tending to its rhythm.
Her realm, the Pendulum Sanctum, is a spiraling tower suspended within an endless hourglass where time flows upward and downward simultaneously. Inside its glass halls, fragments of history are suspended in observation chambers—not to be altered, but preserved and studied. The tower hums with chimes of alternate timelines brushing against reality, like echoes of what might have been.
Though Chronos has vanished, his presence is still felt. The Nowhen Citadel, his timeless domain, remains sealed and untouched. Temporissa alone holds its keys, but she has refused to open its doors, choosing instead to build a new sanctum in its shadow. She governs with diligence, not ego, believing her role is one of guardianship, not succession.
Temporissa ensures the continuity of time—not by exerting control, but by correcting fractures. She guides time-mages away from catastrophic missteps, seals unstable loops, and smooths paradoxes before they rupture. Though lawful, she allows for deviation where necessary, so long as the greater flow remains intact.
Her followers are known as Clockbinders, a devoted sect of archivists, stabilizers, and magical engineers who mend time as others might mend fabric. They often appear at the edges of major events—not to influence outcomes, but to ensure that consequences align with reality. Her temples are circular, gear-lined sanctuaries filled with echoing metronomes and flickering sand-crystals that display fractured timelines.
Miracles attributed to Temporissa include:
– Brief reversals to undo mortal error
– Temporal shielding to protect against chronomantic damage
– Momentary stasis to preserve life until aid can arrive
– Visions of multiple potential futures at a crossroads
All are accompanied by a subtle chime—one only the touched remember.
She is quietly respected by Sila, who views Temporissa as a rare being who understands that fulfilling fate requires balance, not obedience. Mortivax and Othniel have both entrusted her with ancient records and dying thoughts, knowing that within her Sanctum, even forgotten moments are never truly lost.
Temporissa does not seek worship. She seeks balance, and the return of her father—or the strength to continue if he never does.
